Job Overview
POSITION PURPOSE:
This position manages, monitors and provides direct patient care by maintaining an atmosphere conducive to treatment, listening to and helping patients deal with their problems, and assisting management with duties to meet the physical and emotional needs of patients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
- Attends scheduled sessions and implements one-to-one behavior intervention services with clients and families
- Organize monthly meetings to address needs/concerns of residents and their families
- Provide education and training to all staff regarding applicable behavioral topics, activity based programming, and behavior management
- Ensure appropriate documentation is initiated and maintained at preadmission and throughout resident’s stay
- Attends team meetings, relates observations, and demonstrates behavior interventions and programs
- Implements behavior intervention strategies as decided upon in team meetings and/or as directed
- Implements program changes as decided upon in team meetings and/or as directed
- Receives feedback in a professional manner
- Implements feedback received
- Submits changes in schedule promptly and to appropriate persons
- Documents session times and obtains caregiver signatures
- Completes timesheets accurately and completely and submits timesheets by deadline
- Perform additional duties as assigned
EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree required plus a minimum of 2 years related work experience working with clients, their families, and other members of a trans-disciplinary or collaborative team; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicable state license as required.
