Job Overview

At the Philadelphia Center for Psychotherapy (PCP), a new group practice in Center City, Philadelphia, we are looking to hire a licensed social worker (LSW) who works with adults and children. This position will mostly include the provision of psychotherapy/counseling for individuals who struggle with various issues, such as trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and identity issues. Employees have the option to work from home some days, under certain circumstances. At this time, all in-person clients are required to be fully vaccinated. Remote sessions are always available at the request of the client. At PCP, we value your time and your mental wellbeing, just like we value that of our clients; that’s why the workload is not intense, and you will not be expected to work more than 30 hours per week in total for a full-time position. This is a fee for service position that will offer you a range of potential earnings up to $61,500 per year for a full caseload. The position start date is between June and August of 2022, although the option of starting sooner is available.

Benefits package includes:

  • Yearly earnings between $50,000 and $61,500 when seeing 26-30 clients per week, for an average of 48 weeks per year.
  • 4 weeks of allowable time off per year, includes major holidays.
  • Up to $500/year stipend toward continuing education.
  • Fully furnished office with a midcentury modern design, in the Rittenhouse neighborhood of Center City.
  • Access to weekly supervision and consultation.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have a Master degree in social work.
  • Candidates must have an active LSW in the state of Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver psychotherapy and counseling to adults.
  • Experience working with children is a plus, but not required.
  • Utilize an integrative approach to therapy.
  • Document all notes for each therapy session by the end of the work day.
  • Maintain a minimum of 26 client contact per week on average for a full-time position.
  • Participate in weekly 1-hour peer consultations.
  • Maintain professional, collegial, and collaborative teamwork ethics that will be essential to the work culture at the Philadelphia Center for Psychotherapy.
  • Adhere to all of PCP’s policies outlined in the offer letter.

Skills:

  • Familiarity and experience with a variety of approaches to therapy (e.g., psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, etc).
  • Familiarity and experience with working with different populations and different clinical presentations.
  • Having a specialty, or a soft-specialty in a particular area of practice.
  • Ability to speak English fluently.
  • Excellent communication skills, which is inherently critical to this type of career.
  • Flexible attitude that can be reflected in ability to handle change and unexpected circumstances as they emerge.
  • Proficiency in computer skills
