Job Overview

Classification: Hourly Non-Exempt

Status: Full-time and/or Part Time

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:30 pm

Reports to: BCBA and/or Clinical Director

Job Description:

The Behavior Tech / RBT position is responsible for the direct implementation and data collection of the assigned patient’s Applied Behavior Analysis program for The Heart of Behavior LLC. The Behavior Tech / RBT will work very closely with the board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) to ensure that each patient at The Heart of Behavior LLC will receive quality therapeutic care.

Job Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Create a motivating therapy environment
  • Direct instruction/therapy (implement Patient’s programs / procedures as specified by the BCBA)
  • Collect and graph data (e.g. daily data, mand data, etc.)
  • Adherence to HIPAA guidelines
  • Gather materials or communicate a lack of materials to BCBA/program lead
  • Communicate regularly with BCBA, attend team meetings and trainings
  • Arrive on time and maintain a professional relationship with families
  • Responsible for aspects of planning or prep work as instructed by BCBA
  • Track RBT supervision hours, ensure 5% of hours are supervised per month
  • Ensure safety of self and clients to the best of their ability and document any incidents
  • Give at least 24 to 48 hours notice for sick days. (so that arrangements may be made for a substitute)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently or as a team player
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and manner
  • Ability to work in a busy environment with constant interruptions
  • Ability to receive and deliver constructive feedback, and demonstrate effective therapy.
  • Knowledge and comfort in working in a therapeutic setting with patients who may have behavioral, social and communicative difficulties a plus
  • Ability to take perspective of patients, Team members, and families
  • Reliable transportation

Required Education and Experience:

  • A baccalaureate degree (or in progress) ideally in a field related to ABA / Autism intervention.
  • Registered Behavior Technician credential – If not currently an RBT, you have 90 days to complete and attain your RBT credential to maintain your employment in this position.
  • Experience working with children.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to be on your feet most the day keeping up with the activities of a child (e.g. Jumping on trampolines, running, ect…
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs

Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
