Casework Counselor

Job Overview

Provides a range of casework management services, programming, and guidance for offenders in a correctional facility to enhance the security of the facility and promote offenders’ long-term pro-social behaviors.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license. Experience in counseling, rehabilitation, or casework management. Working knowledge of principles and practices of counseling, of casework and treatment methods, of behavior modification and offender restoration rehabilitation. Experience facilitating rehabilitative programs. Experience preparing reports. Demonstrated ability to counsel and interact with offenders to develop, implement, and follow through on treatment plans and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Social Services, Counseling, Criminal Justice or other areas related to human services; an equivalent combination of training and experience may substitute for education. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel). Previous experience working in adult counseling or corrections. Spanish speaking applicants are encouraged to apply.
