Chicago Behavioral Hospital is looking for a Clinical Intern Coordinator to manage the internship program for social work and counseling interns. The Clinical Intern Coordinator will supervise and coorinate interns provision of service to patients. Provide weekly group and individual supervision to the interns in the program. Assure the smooth operation of the office. Coordinate the referral and case assignment process. Ensure that all requirements for program operations including those set by all regulatory agencies are met. Serve on Management Team and maintain excellent communication with the Director of Clinical Serices
Specific Duties:

  • Provide direct supervision and on-the-job training to interns.
  • Participate/lead clinical interventions as necessary for the training/support of the interns/program.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring and training of new interns for the program.
  • Lead recruitment efforts for interns and maintain positive working relationships with identified school of social work and counseling.
  • Provide team leadership and model professional behaviors to promote the delivery of appropriate services to clients.
  • Monitor completion of all necessary program documentation, assuring compliance with all contracts, grants and regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in Management Team and communicate information between administration and the interns.
  • Maintain weekly group and individual supervision with interns.
  • Maintain a schedule that accommodates the needs of the clients/interns (including but not limited to being present on site when interns are in placement).
  • Address and resolve intern issues.
  • Complete ongoing and yearly written performance evaluations and/or school evaluations for direct supervisees/interns.
  • Coordinate discipline concerns with schools.
  • Coordinate the referral and intake and discharge process and assign clients as appropriate.
  • Coordinate the agencys interaction and compliance with contracts and grants for service. Assure that all requirements are being met regularly.
  • Assure that the programs are operating at maximum level of efficiency and that all staff are providing the expected hours of direct service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EducationMaster’s Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field preferred.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; and have strong clinical assessment skills preferred.
LicenseMust possess a clinical Illinois State license in social work (LCSW).
Additional Requirements: CPR certification and management of aggressive behavior training within 30 days of employment prior to assisting in a restraining procedure. Must be able to pass a competency exam for the area upon hire. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
