Job Summary
The Site coordinator is responsible for the overall administration of the UNP Hartland Partnership Center in the Glendale neighborhood of Salt Lake City. This position provides on-site support for partners and staff, coordinates scheduling and building use, maintains Center files and data, and helps ensure that the building is well maintained and in compliance with regulations. This position also works with the Hartland Resident Committee, a leadership group made of local community members, and supports them in running meetings and annual events.
The UNP Hartland Partnership Center brings together community residents, university departments, non-profit organizations, agencies, and other partners to build community capacity and decrease economic, linguistic, and social barriers to education and wellbeing. Partners work together in a reciprocal learning model to build upon one another’s strengths and facilitate programming. Partnerships offer resources such as English language instruction, mental health support, citizenship classes, employment workshops, afterschool and summer youth programs, and more.
The UNP Hartland Partnership Center is in Salt Lake City at 1578 West 1700 South. Work schedule will be primarily Monday through Friday, 11:00am to 7:00pm, with occasional weekday and weekend events outside of those hours.
Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site support and coordination for partners, including but not limited to neighborhood residents, university faculty, student interns, community organizations, volunteers, youth participants, and UNP staff.
  • Work with the Hartland Resident Committee and act as a liaison among between community leaders, UNP staff, and other partners.
  • Oversee scheduling and building use to support in a safe, appropriate, and community-friendly manner.
  • Staff the Center’s front office and phone as a welcoming first point of contact for people entering the building.
  • Ensure visitor safety, notify management on maintenance and repair issues, and compliance with environmental, safety and health procedures relating to facility operations.
  • Maintain records, calendars, and data for the Center.
  • Maintain security access and report cleaning problems.
  • Support coordination and planning for signature events, such as the Hartland Spring Festival.
  • Manage the Center budget and purchase food, supplies, and services as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency required (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
