This job is located in Colorado and requires living in the Roaring Fork Valley.

Located in the heart of the beautiful Rocky Mountains, the Aspen Hope Center provides critical crisis support to our rural resort community. Our Crisis Clinicians are committed to serving those in need during an emotional crisis and assess an individuals level of suicidal thinking and risk or their level of psychosis. The Aspen Hope Center works alongside law enforcement and EMS as a daily part of a day’s work. Our ideal candidate is professional, efficient, compassionate and thrives being part of a team. The goal is to prevent ER visits and reach people in their homes or on location.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clinicians work 3 – 24hr shifts as a full time employee
  • Shifts are split between office and on-call
  • Clinician responds to calls from law enforcement, 911 or individuals in crisis
  • Conducts evaluations and risk assessments in office, on site, or at the hospital
  • Initiates involuntary hospitalization only when necessary
  • Able to work beyond the initial crisis and continue to work collaboratively for days or weeks. This includes contact by phone and/or in person
  • Will establish and maintain strong inter-agency relationships, including local mental health professionals, human service agencies and psychiatric facilities throughout the state.

Full Time Status Description:

A full-time Hope Center Crisis Clinician is salaried for 72 hours on call each week where by they take calls, provide assessments, triage clients, follow up with previous clients and conduct any other AHC business required. 3 – 24 hour shifts with 4 days off is a typical schedule. This on-call/office mix is deemed equivalent to 40 hours of full time office work.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of DSM-IV TR and DSM 5 diagnoses and symptoms
  • Knowledge of local and agency resources for referrals
  • Skilled at assessing level of suicidality in individuals who present for help
  • Skilled at working with various types of individuals and knowing how to approach each one
  • Skilled in basic computer operations – Word, internet use and data management
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
  • Ability to maintain boundaries with clients, practitioners, agencies and community members
  • Ability to maintain composure, professionalism, and structure in any given situation
  • Ability to maintain communication with clinical team on a daily basis
  • Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems

Credentials and Experience

  • Masters degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $72,000.00 per year
