POSITION:            Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

DEPARTMENT:     Clinic

HOURS:               Full-time/Exempt

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will evaluate, diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders of individuals through interview, assessment, observation and screening tools in order for formulate a course of psychiatric mental health treatment; make appropriate referrals; and provide treatment though direct clinical services,

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

• Fully licensed in Minnesota BE/BC, unencumbered DEA.
• Current unrestricted Driver’s License
• Maintain appropriate licensure, including completing continuing education licensing requirements
• Experience as a PMHNP preferred.

SKILL(S):

• Expertise in primary care, acute care and chronic care practices
• Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication with an emphasis on clarity and compassion
• Knowledge and experience with using Electronic Record Management systems (EMRs); Epic is desirable
• Strong work ethic and compassionate listener
• Possesses a positive, helpful attitude
• Displays superior patience & understanding
• Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience

EXPERIENCE:

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner experience preferred.
