The Child and Family Guidance Center provides comprehensive and collaborative outpatient mental health services to children, adolescents and their families throughout the San Fernando and Antelope Valleys.
The Position:
The Psychiatric Case Manager works under the direct supervision of the Psychiatric Administrative Manager, and is primarily responsible for providing administrative support to the psychiatrists at the Child and Family Guidance Center.

Essential Job Functions:
- Provides a family with a general overview of psychiatric services, prior to evaluations.
- Administers rating scales.
- Screens client phone calls to provide an appropriate level of urgency and access to psychiatric care.
- Transcribes psychiatric evaluations and progress notes with accuracy.
- Edits and processes all psychiatric evaluations and progress notes in a timely and accurate manner, including generating/printing notes and using appropriate billing codes.
- Schedules and coordinates Telehealth, vitals, and check-in sessions with the nurse and/or MD for client follow-up appointments.
- Provides Telehealth appointment information and walks through with clients, as needed.
- Organizes and updates electronic folders in Psych. Share to facilitate access to client information while MD works remotely.
- Handles prescription issues through an electronic portal and for Psychiatrists, especially in their absence.
- Coordinates weekly Zoom meetings with MD to review scheduling needs, follow up with pending documentation.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Skills You Need:
- At least three years experience as a secretary, one year of which should have been in the mental health field
- Bilingual in Spanish and English Required
- Knowledge of psychological/psychiatric terminology
- Ability to type 60-65 wpm
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to complete projects and reports in a timely manner
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
Hours:
- Monday through Friday (40 hours)
- 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Education Required:
- BA/BA degree required
Contingencies:
- Must be fully vaccinated/boostered to comply with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and LAUSD mandate. The Center will provide accommodations as required by applicable law
